Ravine 17 Café

One year ago, we set up a café area inside our church building. It’s been such a great addition—serving our community well on Sundays and during midweek events, while also freeing up much-needed space for our youth to hang out and grow together.

But right from the start, we had a bigger dream. We didn’t just want a spot for church activities; we wanted a warm, friendly, and lively café that would be open midweek and connect our church with the wider Windsor community—a place that’s more than just somewhere to grab a coffee, but full of warmth, conversation, and real connection throughout the week.

And this past Saturday, that dream came to life: The Ravine 17 Café officially opened!

A huge part of bringing this vision to life was finding the right person to lead it—and I feel we have found that in Angie. Within an hour of speaking with her, I really felt she was the right person to take this on. She shares our heart for the community and our desire to create a space where people can experience belonging, support, and excellent coffee—at prices that are more accessible.

Both Angie and our team share the same hope: that Ravine 17 will be a place where people from all walks of life—whether they’re just passing through or looking for somewhere to belong—feel truly at home. A spot where church members and locals can connect, build friendships, and share life over a great cup of coffee.

We dream of it becoming a real hub of community life—a place where stories are shared, burdens lifted, and joy found.

More than just a café, we want this space to show the heart of our church: open, relational, and centred on love. And as people walk through the doors, my prayer is that they won’t just find good coffee and friendly chats—but maybe, one day, discover the deeper hope and transformation that comes from knowing Jesus and becoming part of His family.

You might be wondering—why call it Ravine 17? We named it after the Kerith Ravine in 1 Kings 17—a place where God provided for Elijah both physically and spiritually. Just like Elijah was sustained in that quiet, hidden place, we see this café as a space where people can find nourishment, community, and refreshment for both body and soul. Ravine 17 reminds us that God meets us in everyday moments, offering care and strength in places of rest and connection.

The café will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9am to 1pm.

Come by for a coffee or tea—and feel free to bring your family, friends, and co-workers :)

Hope to see you there,
Leon
