Our First In-Person Gathering
On Sunday we met together in person in our new building for the first time. Whilst many choose green pastures and flowerbeds to picnic in, we opted for our very own uneven, weed-sprinkled car park in all its industrial estate glory. The beauty that lacked in the scenery was made up for in the warmth and friendship of our community. It was so lovely to see faces in person, and a big thank you to all those who participated in the games for being such great sports!
For those who felt comfortable, we then moved indoors to pray and worship together. The acapella voices of our community singing in worship paired with the echoey acoustics of the unfurnished warehouse was a welcome sound at the end of 70 weeks without being able to gather together.
Well done everyone for navigating the complexities of unlit toilets, dusty buildings, and bring your own camping chair seating!
How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young-- a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King, and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.
