Our Easter Trails This Year
Here’s an exciting and encouraging update from Jo Foster, our Kerith Kids Champion and Bracknell Children's Pastor.
Easter Trails: The Bracknell School’s Experience
“Over the last two years we have run an Easter trail on Good Friday – an interactive experience for families to really soak up the Easter story and have time to allow the Easter story to impact their lives. Building on the success and feedback from the first couple of years, we really felt that this year it would be great to open it up for schools. We emailed lots of local schools inviting them to come along, prayerfully expecting a positive response, and God delivered - 4 schools said yes, even though they would have to arrange their own transport! What an awesome opportunity to share the Gospel message with children who don’t come to Church!
So, working closely with our amazing prayer space team (and over 30 fantastic volunteers!) we created a trail that saw over 300 children (plus their teachers) really encounter the Easter story over three days. In a world of rush and hurry we were keen to create the space for the children to slow down and be able to connect and experience what it was like for Jesus during his last week on earth.
The feedback has been phenomenal! :
“What a moving and memorable experience, that I will always remember”
Both the children and teachers were so grateful and already want to come again next year.
It was also an incredible experience for all of us involved – seeing miracles happen in our own lives too! We are massively grateful to all the volunteer team who gave up their time to make this happen.
Easter Trails: Our Good Friday Experience
So, with Good Friday just around the corner, we are now preparing to do it all over again!
This time, for the whole church community, so there is opportunity for more volunteers to get involved. Please could you consider serving? As it’s a family’s event you don’t even need a DBS to serve! We need team to help with refreshments, craft, welcome, as guides and as hosts. For more information and to sign-up, please click on the link below.”
