Kerith Bracknell Gift Days in June & July 2025

Dear Kerith Bracknell Family,

We hope you’re finding the cooler weather a welcome break from the intense heatwave we’ve been experiencing lately. That’s a reminder that seasons come and go and that we can stay encouraged in our walk with Jesus that He’ll be with us, come what may.

Beccy and I wanted to take a moment to share our hearts and invite you into the next chapter of our Bracknell story, as we stepped into another set of Gift Days on Sunday 29th June and Sunday 6th July.

The Kerith Centre has been a beacon of hope and hospitality in our community for over 30 years. It’s where lives have been transformed, friendships formed, and faith deepened. But like any well-loved home, it’s time for some essential upgrades to ensure it continues to serve us—and the generations to come—with excellence.

Our focus since late 2022, has been refurbishing the auditorium lighting and replacing our ageing PA system. We’re glad to have now completed the lighting phase in June 2025. As we continue with the rest of the project, we are aware that the current sound system has served us faithfully for over two decades, but is now showing its age. Faults are becoming more frequent, with even one speaker dying in the week leading up to this first gift day! The sound quality—especially in the balcony—is no longer what it should be. We want everyone who walks through our doors to experience worship and teaching that is clear, immersive, accessible and distraction-free.

The budget for this next phase is a significant investment—just over £100,000—but we believe it’s worth every pound. We’re working with trusted professionals to ensure we get the best solution for our space, and we’re confident that this upgrade will bless every person who gathers in our auditorium. Our giving towards this doesn’t only benefit those who gather in our auditorium. We’re committed to making sure 10% of what we raise goes towards Tearfund's 'Trash to Cash' initiative in northern Nigeria fighting the effects of climate change in this community. You can read more about this here.

We know times are financially challenging for many, and we don’t take this ask lightly. But we also know the faithfulness of God and the generosity of His people. Just as previous generations gave sacrificially to build the Kerith Centre, we now have the opportunity to sow into its future. As Haggai 2:8–9 reminds us:

“The silver is mine and the gold is mine,” declares the Lord Almighty. “The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,” says the Lord Almighty. “And in this place I will grant peace,” declares the Lord Almighty.’

Though we are focusing on raising some substantial funds over these two weeks, we can continue to give at any time. Let’s step forward together in faith, trusting that God will provide through us. Whether you’re able to give a little or a lot, every gift matters. Most importantly, we ask you to pray—pray for provision, for unity, and for the continued impact of our church in Bracknell and beyond.

With love and gratitude,
Pelumi and Beccy
