Building and Reaching!
We want to BUILD community and REACH our local community - and on Sunday 3rd December we get to do both!
BUILD COMMUNITY…
On 3rd December, come to church as usual at 10am armed with a packed lunch to our next Stay for Lunch event. It’ll be a great chance to chat to people you don’t usually get to without the usual time restrictions that Sunday mornings bring. We may be ten years old as a site, but we are still a relatively new congregation since we opened our doors in Farnborough nearly two years ago and have welcomed a steady stream of newcomers since - so this is a great opportunity to both deepen friendships, and make new ones!
REACH OUR COMMUNITY…
Our vision in buying our building was for it to be a house of God and a house of the people. We had prayed for a space to call ‘home’ where we could comfortably meet together in the presence of God. However a massive thing we are also passionate about is that we exist to reach the local community of Farnborough and surrounding areas, and to share the love of Jesus. There are loads of ways we plan to do this and in the coming months we’ll be sharing more about new initiatives. We feel it’s really important to step out of our building in making links with the local community, as we seek to serve the needs and welcome people back to God. We want to bless people and reach people with the love of Jesus.
So - on this same Sunday 3rd December, we are heading outside of our walls to let people know that Kerith Farnborough is here to stay! After the Stay for Lunch, a group of us will be heading into the town to hand out invitations to our Christmas Experience, with a Christmas craft table for children set up - and we hope to gather a group to sing some Christmas Carols! Who knows what could come from conversations with people as they pass us by doing their shopping. This will be happening in the town centre from 1.30 to 2.30pm.
Please be praying for really positive conversations and for some of those people to say ‘yes’ to coming along to church, even if just out of curiosity at first!
Everyone is invited to join us on this day - the more of us that are there, the bigger the impact we will make. There is no need to book up to Stay for Lunch - but we’d love an idea of numbers to indicate who is around to help us with our outreach in the town. Please indicate here if you plan on joining us!
