Shining Light Stars: Philippians 2:14-16 The Message Translation

14-16 Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I’ll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You’ll be living proof that I didn’t go to all this work for nothing.

P - Pause. Breathe in and out by an open window or stand by the open front door - feel the ‘fresh air’ in your lungs.

R- Rejoice. Thank God for people around you this week who are ‘cheerful’ in bringing God’s peace.

A- Ask. Where can you be a ‘breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society’? Ask God about areas of your work / relationships that have been polluted and pray for a breakthrough of God’s Spirit to bring a glimpse of what ‘good living’ could look like.

Y - Yield.” Do everything readily and cheerfully”. Where do you need to repent and ask for God’s help again to go out into the world and Shine Light a Star (NIV translation)?

“Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.”
