Friday Prayer Theme & Half Night of Prayer
Breathing In + Out today as we pray through the day and into tonight.
Be Mary!
"Be still and know that I am God." – Psalm 46:10
At the home of Martha and Mary: Luke 10:38-42
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, ‘Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!’
41 ‘Martha, Martha,’ the Lord answered, ‘you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed – or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.’
P - Pause. Notice how this passage makes you feel - are you encouraged? Do you feel condemned or challenged? Give this to God.
R- Rejoice. Spend some time in God’s Presence right now - you could kneel as if you are sitting at Jesus’ feet. Maybe put on some worship music or read a Psalm…
A- Ask. Talk to God about how this week of Prayer & Fasting has encouraged or challenged you. What do you want to continue through the year? Ask God who you could be accountable to for His Spirit to motivate and encourage you (yep, you wont manage in your own strength!).
Y - Yield. What will you need to lay down in order to take up this new rhythm of prayer?
Action Today:
Make a plan to join us in the K2 building tonight from 7pm to PRAY with the Kerith Bracknell Community - we are Breathing IN and Breathing OUT together! You can come for one of the hours or stay ‘till midnight!
What are your barriers to coming? Pray them through today.
