Church in the Park - the plan!
Sunday 1st June 11:00-2:30 pm
We are really excited that after raising money to reset our electricity guzzling auditorium lights with lighter, brighter more carbon friendly LED lights - we are now able to get on with the installation! This means the auditorium will be out of action over the last week of May and into June meaning that we need to take church outside on the last weekend of half term SO CHURCH is heading to the park!
So please diarise Sunday 1st June for a 11:30 meeting at Elms park, here’s the plan
We want to make sure we are catering to everyone’s needs as much as we are able so please take a look at the FAQs below for finer details….
THE PLAN
11:00am Arrive in the College Car park and walk across to The Elms Park, Park Rd, Bracknell RG12 2LU. We’ll have a map and a video from the College car park showing you the way- the walk should take under 10 minutes. Our Blue Kerith badge holders will have access to the Elms car park which will be manned by out Host team (entrance off Park Rd side). We’ve arranged with a coffee van that sells drinks and doughnuts, so you might want to bring some extra cash or cards to treat yourself.
11:30-12:15pm The meeting will begin with worship include our normal Kerith flow but we’ll be ‘All IN’ together so no separate kids events.
12:15- 1:15pm Its Picnic time! It’s fun to bring and share with those around you or just bring your own and some extra cash/electronic payment methods for the ice-cream van! We’ll have some water on site but remember to bring along enough for you and your family if its hot!
1:15- 2:30pm Games in the park led by our youth and YA groups, and yes rounders is ON!
2:30-3pm It’s time to go- so we’ll pack up and finish our ice-creams!
FAQs
Q: I struggle with my mobility- how can I access church in the park?
A: We want everyone to take part if possible so for Kerith blue badge holders we have parking next to the grass for you, and we will have HOST team ready to help you to a seat. We are going to bring across Kerith chairs with arms so you can be seated safely and we’ll be on hand to help you with your picnic baskets too.
Q: Will there be toilets?
A: Yes we have toilets set up in the car park that will be open throughout the event.
Q: How do I get to the Park from the College?
A: Elms Park address is Park Rd, Bracknell RG12 2LU Parking for Kerith blue badge holders only. On the day you’ll be able to access maps and a video we’ll share from the College car park so you can all walk across to the Elms.
Q: Will I be able to hear?
A: We will have a PA system set up for the church meeting elements but we also need to be sensitive to the surrounding houses.
